The vacancies series transcends the dreary monotony of mobile home vacationing. It is set in a trailer park, located by the dunes and mainly used by locals. The trailer park is flat, few trees, no horizon. The eyes get lost in its maze, wander but have nowhere to go. Days are rhythmed by the music of pool-side activities and choreographed shows delivered by temporary entertainers. It is a place full of flesh, empty of mind. Sunburnt bodies walk up and down the alleys all day. Those are deserted at dusk, as vacationers abandon the pool to return to their trailer, only coming out again after nightfall to attend the daily evening show. The place then feels vacant and abandonned. This series aims at transcribing that bleak, yet vivid void in all its cinematographic beauty.
